Lighting control in the BMS has special requirements compared with stand-alone solutions, especially during the installation process, where the interaction between the installer and the BMS supplier is important. Therefore Servodan has developed a dedicated DALI BMS detector.
“To ease the installation we have developed a detector exclusively for the BMS” says Henrik Norén, Portfolio Manager at Servodan. “The detector is ex works configured as a system detector. Therefore it is ready for installation when delivered without previously changing the configurations.”
The BMS detector is easy to install because it can be connected directly to the DALI bus. This saves installation of separately cables to the detector. A unique address is assigned to the detector enabling communication specific to this detector. The BMS can inquire the actual lux level and the PIR status.
Detection range up to 24 m
With detection up to 24 m the detector range is up to 4 times larger than similar BMS detectors. This reduces the number of detectors and contributes to simplify the installation.
“The detector enables PIR and installation test to ensure faultless installation. The installer can test the installation from the remote control without even involving the BMS supplier, Henrik Norén adds. “This only requires that the DALI bus is powered up. Therefore the installer and the BMS supplier can work independently of each other, adding great flexibility during installation and eliminating errors.”
The lens and PIR-technology are the same as in other Servodan detectors. Therefore it is also possible to make segmented sensitivity in up to three sectors of 120o. This is a way to reduce the sensitivity in sectors where impact from e.g. ventilation systems can course unintended turning on of the luminaires. The installer configures this via the remote control before handover. PC software and involving a BMS supplier is thus not necessary.
This new DALI BMS detector is available for flush mounting (type 41-740) and for surface mounting (type 41-741)
The BMS detector can be connected directly to the DALI bus. A unique address is assigned to the detector as all other parts (A0, A1, A2, A3 etc.). This enables communication specifically to this detector.
